Description

Artists from Colburn’s Dance Academy and Music Academy join forces for a program of musically-driven ballets, including works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, and Colburn Dance Dean Silas Farley.

The works on this program were originally choreographed on renowned ballet companies, including New York City Ballet and American Ballet Theatre, and feature extraordinary music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Peter Warlock, J.S. Bach, Arvo Pärt, and W.A. Mozart.

These ballets highlight the expertise of Colburn faculty past and present. Former Dance Dean Jenifer Ringer staged the Jerome Robbins choreography, drawing on her rich experience of dancing for Robbins. Colburn’s own Zippora Karz, a stager for The George Balanchine Trust, staged the Balanchine choreography. And the program includes excerpts from two ballets by Colburn Dance Dean Silas Farley.
