Join us for the opening of Balance and Reframe — a special exhibition and reception featuring photographs of Colburn dancers by Kanya Iwana.

Enjoy a glass of wine, light bites, and the unveiling of striking dance portraits photographed on site, featuring young artists from the Trudl Zipper Dance Institute. Meet the artist and explore the work near Colburn’s dance studios.

Kanya Iwana is an Indonesian multidisciplinary artist whose directing and photography are distinguished by a romantic tone, thoughtful composition, and deep emotional resonance. With a background in dance, music, and theatre, she brings a rare sensitivity to movement and storytelling, capturing the interplay between rhythm, stillness, and human expression. Her work has graced the covers of Time Magazine and Rolling Stone and familiar faces in her portfolio include Anya Taylor-Joy, Megan Thee Stallion, SZA, Steven Spielberg, and Daniel Craig.
